REKO's offer of waste collection services is aimed in particular at:

1) local authorities and municipal waste management facilities, including RIPOKs

2) manufacturing and service industries;

3) commercial and logistics centres;

(4) companies active in waste management, including waste that is secondary raw materials.

Below is the history of the Company in relation to the scope of its activities.

Since its inception, the object of the company has been the collection and management of waste, except that in the initial period the company was active in the collection of non-municipal waste, mainly waste that can be subjected to recovery processes and in particular recycling, commonly referred to as secondary raw materials.

In order to guarantee the best service, the company has continuously expanded its logistics facilities in terms of hooklift trucks, gantry trucks, minibuses, self-loading lift trucks, semi-trailer tractors, hooklift and gantry container trailers.

Since the company's inception, REKO has been offering entrepreneurs and municipalities a consultancy service, leasing or selling components that make up the waste management system, including: containers for separate collection or technical systems for reducing the volume of waste, i.e. compactors, balers, municipal waste compactors, rotocompactors for special waste, screw compactors, polystyrene compactors.

In 2013, the company submitted application documents and received funding as part of the implementation of Measure 8.2 'Support for the implementation of electronic business of the B2B type' of the POIG programme. The project was concerned with the implementation of innovative technical, technological and organisational solutions affecting the development of the existing business processes, concerning both the REKO company and its cooperating business partners.

In 2014, the company developed and implemented a quality management system based on ISO standards from the 9000 series and an environmental management system based on ISO standards from the 14 000 series. The implementation of these systems was confirmed by their certification process, which continues to this day. These systems represented an organisational innovation for the company, which allowed for a more effective development of the organisation and the activities carried out, as evidenced by an increase in the number of customers and a significant increase in financial results. The management system was implemented as a compatible component, integrated with specialised IT software.

On 21.10.2014. Jakub Ciupinski completed the purchase of a square with a total area of 1.98 hectares, which had previously been partly leased for business purposes. This action laid the foundations for further structured development in terms of investment plans.

In 2015, the company obtained its first entry in the register of regulated activities and thus started its municipal waste collection activities. In the initial period, it was a service for companies in the field of municipal waste collection. As of today, REKO has an entry in the Register of Regulated Activities in 42 municipalities. While developing its municipal waste collection activities, the company also started to take part in tenders for comprehensive services for municipalities. The Company won the first tender in 2019 and the first comprehensively serviced municipality was the municipality of Lelów. Currently, it provides services in the municipalities of Niegowa and Psary. Since then, the company has continuously entered tenders and continues to provide comprehensive services to municipalities.

In February 2016, REKO entered into an agreement with the Department of Chemical Engineering and Process Design, Silesian University of Technology, Faculty of Chemistry, under which R&D work was commissioned to develop and confirm a method for the removal of printing from PE film. On the basis of the results of this work, in 2017 the company obtained funding for the project entitled 'Implementation of an innovative technology enabling the processing of waste printed PE films', co-financed under sub-measure 3.2.2 Credit for technological innovation of the Operational Programme Intelligent Development. The result of the project was implemented into operations at the beginning of 2021. Earlier in 2019, the company had already started its activities in the recycling of plastics, in particular packaging and agricultural films.

In the context referred to above relating to the recycling of plastic film, in 2020 and 2022 the company indirectly participated in the programme 'Disposal of agricultural film and other waste from agricultural activities' run by the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management. The beneficiaries of the programme were local government units and their associations, which collect used agricultural film from farmers and then transfer it to disposal companies. In 2022, REKO carried out the collection of collected agricultural film from 32 municipalities in a total amount of more than 2,700 Mg.

In 2018, under POIR 2014-2022, sub-measure 2.3.2 Innovation vouchers for SMEs, the company applied for funding for a project aimed at developing a new technology comprising a set of technological and apparatus solutions to standardise a stream of mixed plastic waste, in particular films from selective collection. This technology has also been developed by researchers at the Faculty of Chemistry of the Silesian University of Technology. The result of this R&D work was presented as a project entitled 'Implementation of a new technology for the recovery of film from a stream of mixed plastic waste' in the application documentation under Stage II of the Innovation Voucher 2.3.2 POIR. The application was evaluated positively and received funding. The result of this project was implemented in the company's operations in the second half of 2021.

In 2018, the company purchased under contract (for exclusive rights to all property rights to the invention) from the Ignacy Mościcki Institute of Industrial Chemistry a patent for an invention not previously used industrially with the number PL 196 811 entitled "Method of manufacturing thermoplastic elastomers from waste multilayer films".

The company, compiling the results of its own waste preparation work and the results of the processing work proper covered by industrial property protection, prepared an application file under the Intelligent Development Operational Programme 2014-2020, Sub-measure 3.2.2 Credit for technological innovation. The application was evaluated positively and was selected for co-financing. The project is titled: ,,Implementation of an in-house technology for the production of thermoplastic elastomer from waste multilayer films" on the basis of agreement no POIR.03.02.02-00-1773/19-00 of 16.10.2019. Due to the protracted environmental proceedings to obtain an environmental decision, the start of the investment process has been significantly delayed and therefore the final implementation of the results of this project will be carried out in June of the current year.

Upon completion of this project, the total waste film recycling capacity will be 2 Mg per hour, allowing approximately 10,000 tonnes to be recycled annually. The product of the recycling processes will be PE-based plastic regranulate as a substitute for the primary granulate produced in the petrochemical industry.

The dynamic development of the company is illustrated by the financial results achieved.

Along with the financial performance of the company, the level of employment is also gradually increasing. The headcount at the end of 2018 was less than 40 full-time employees, while the Company now already employs 138 people (FTE).

The scale of the municipal waste collection business is regional, the non-municipal waste business is national and, in terms of sales, also international, while the plastic film recycling business is also national and, in terms of sales of regranulate, international.

The Company also pays great attention to the principle of corporate social responsibility (CSR: Corporate Social Responsibility) by conducting its business in a sustainable manner, taking into account the real impact of our business decisions on all stakeholders - our customers, employees, business partners, communities and the environment.

As a matter of good practice, in addition to our educational activities, we also participate in the local community through active financial support of youth sports sections (boxing, wrestling, football). REKO also actively supports
and initiates educational campaigns among the youngest.

Furthermore, through the scope of our activities, we are also involved in environmental information activities for the benefit of the wider local community, institutions and public administration bodies.
