REKO PRIME Sp. z o.o. has received funding for a project entitled: "Implementation at Reko Prime Sp. z o.o. of environmental technologies related to the closed-loop economy" under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan.

The aim of the project is to implement an innovative technology for the recycling of LDPE film waste, which will reduce the amount of waste generated by hydroseparation and washing processes. It will also enable the recycling of films that are difficult to process.

Thanks to the project, the quality of the regranulate produced will be increased, allowing for a wider use of secondary raw materials in new products. In addition, the energy efficiency of recycling processes will be improved and water consumption will be reduced.

The project includes the purchase of two state-of-the-art technological systems and a consultancy service. The recipients of the results will be companies producing regranulate products.

The result will be the development of the circular economy and an increase in the amount of waste recycled.

Project value: 4 458 800.27 PLN

Amount of EU funding: 1,785,520.00 PLN

The company carried out the task under a grant agreement concluded with the Director General of the Prison Service - Dispenser of the Fund for the Professional Activation of Prisoners and the Development of Prison Labour Establishments.

Co-financed by the State Special Purpose Fund -Fund for Vocational Activation of Prisoners and Development of Prison Workplaces.

Name of task: Purchase of a wheel loader in order to create both a job for persons deprived of liberty and to create conditions for acquiring rights and continuous improvement of qualifications to operate this type of machine for min. 6 persons deprived of their liberty".

DescriptionThe objective of the task was to purchase a wheel loader in order to create both a workplace for persons deprived of their liberty and to create the conditions for min. 6 persons deprived of their liberty. This qualification is defined as a fork-lift truck operator subject to UDT.

Value of task: PLN 351,717.27

Grant: 107 131.00 PLN

The company carried out a task from the Accident Prevention Contributors' Subsidy Programme entitled: 'Project on maintaining working capacity throughout working life'.

Subsidised by the Social Security Fund.

Project name: "IMPROVEMENT OF HEALTH AND SAFETY CONDITIONS AT REKO PRIME SP. Z O.O. THROUGH SOLUTIONS TO INCREASE AIR PURITY AFTER THE POLYETHYLENE FILM RECYCLING PROCESS".

Description: Thanks to the installation of a filtering system with canopies for the LDPE film recycling line, dust levels have been reduced, which has had a direct impact on air quality and will contribute to a reduction in the number of occupational accidents for the 26 employees working on the line.

Date of agreement: December 2023

Value of the task: 304 837,05 PLN

Co-financing: 243 869,64 PLN

Brief description of the project:

Title: Implementation of a new technology for the recovery of film from the mixed plastic waste stream.

Description: The subject of the project is the implementation of technology developed by the Faculty of Chemistry of the Silesian University of Technology. The developed new technology includes a set of technological and apparatus solutions enabling standardisation and processing of a stream of mixed plastic waste, in particular packaging film from selective collection. The result of the implementation will be a product/product defined as a standardised fraction of plastics in line with the expectations of end users and/or the requirements of own processing processes. The product will be designed for the production of 1) recyclates and polymer regranulates (as semi-finished products for external companies), 2) composites and polymer blends, 3) fractions of high-quality fuels of known chemical composition and calorific value dedicated for use in CHP plants and cement plants. As a result of the implementation of the technology in question, a product and process innovation will be created. The technology is expected to lead to maximisation of the level of recovery, through the implementation of waste-free processes and simultaneous optimisation of material recovery, in relation to the fraction being processed. According to the scope of the study carried out by the scientific unit, the products obtained as a result of recovery, their form and purity must meet the expectations set by the end users of the processed products. As part of the project, a technological system will be purchased, consisting of three main components, i.e. a shredding unit (tearing up agglomerated waste occurring e.g. in bags, bales) and a sorting cabin with a sorting belt, as well as an ascending feeder with an over-belt magnetic separator.

Total expenditure: 984 000.00 PLN

EU funding for the project: PLN 360 000.00

Brief description of the project:

Title: Implementation of proprietary technology for the production of thermoplastic elastomer from waste multilayer films

Description: The subject of the project is the implementation of an in-house technology to produce a thermoplastic elastomer from waste multilayer film. As a result of the project, a new material recycling service will be created for the indicated waste group. This service will make it possible to produce usable products, so-called regranulate, which will have a wide range of applications in the plastics processing industry. The project will create the necessary infrastructure, including a hall with a technological line, necessary for the implementation of the new technology.

Total expenditure: 5 795 000 PLN

EU funding for the project: PLN 2,608,500

Brief description of the project:

Title: Development of a new technology comprising a set of technology and apparatus solutions to standardise the mixed plastic waste stream, particularly film from selective collection.

Description: The subject of the project is the purchase from the Department of Chemistry of the Silesian University of Technology of a service consisting in the development of a new technology. The new technology will comprise a set of technological and apparatus solutions enabling standardisation of a stream of mixed waste plastics, in particular films from selective collection. In the waste stream subjected to processing with the use of the new technology, we identify mixed waste plastics coming from the so-called selective collection (defined e.g. as yellow bags) and from RIPOK installations, which occur in the form of agglomerated, compacted plastics (bags, bales, etc.) The result of implementation will be a product/product defined as a standardised fraction of plastics compliant with the expectations of end users and/or requirements of own processing. The product will be designed for the production of 1)recyclates and polymer regranulates (as intermediate products for external companies), 2)composites and polymer blends, 3)fractions of high-quality fuels of known chemical composition and calorific value dedicated for use in CHP plants and cement plants. The project concerns both the development of a new technology and the elements leading to its implementation. Therefore, the study will also include guidelines for the design of the technological installation and the infrastructure necessary to implement the technology. The study will also include a technology implementation plan. Thus, the subject of the above-mentioned service will enable full preparation of a project of an investment nature for the implementation of the technology in question. It is planned to immediately implement the project on the company's premises as part of the next investment stage.

Implementation of an innovative technology for the processing of waste printed PE films

The project in question involves a technological investment involving the implementation of the company's own innovative technology, which is the result of cooperation with a scientific institution and the company's own development work. The implemented technology will enable the processing of waste, printed PE film and will constitute an offer of a new material recycling service. The service will be implemented in relation to post-consumer waste, including in particular packaging waste, as well as post-production waste and will be addressed to waste generators. The service will be confirmed by the issuing of legally prescribed documents, the so-called DPR (document confirming recycling),
